Spurs had their first win in the English Premier League this season at the Wembley Stadium as they struggled to come out of the game with a 1 goal lead over Bournemouth today.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men didn’t start with pressure as they started the game slowly. Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris also deserves thanks as he saved Spurs from a shot on target as the opposition tried to score with a low ball to stretch the goalkeeper the French International made a quick fantastic save to keep out the ball.
Both sides struggled and did all they can in the first leg but both teams couldn’t change the score board as they ended the first half goalless.
The Tottenham players seemed to have broken the goalless curse as they scored just ten minutes into the second half.
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola has suggested that Tottenham were reliant on striker Harry Kane but the Tottenham squad proved him wrong as they didn’t accept a defeat or take home a draw, they drove one in at the 47th minute and Christian Eriksen made no mistake has he fired the ball into the post.
Tottenham didn’t stop there as they kept on mounting pressure to find the sinker and seal the win once and for all but all efforts were to no avail as Asmir Begovic made great saves to stop the score board increase.
Since the goalkeeper denied them off every plan to score they decided to take home there one goal lead at the end and now they are just three points of Manchester United in second place.
